We are looking for 2 Kitchen Hands to join our team for a business that operates two food and beverage venues in Akaroa, Canterbury. The role is primarily based at one venue but deployment across the business group may occasionally be required. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting the kitchen team to deliver a high quality dining experience.
As a Kitchen Hand, you will support the kitchen team across our food and beverage operations in Akaroa. You will work as part of a busy team, contributing to food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and smooth service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning kitchens, food preparation areas and sculleries
- Cleaning cooking and general utensils used in the kitchen and restaurant
- Transferring, weighing and checking supplies and equipment
- Assembling and preparing ingredients for cooking, and preparing salads, savouries and sandwiches
- Cooking, toasting and heating simple food items
- Packing food and beverage trays for serving
- Receiving and putting away deliveries
- Following food safety and hygiene standards
- General kitchen cleaning and closing duties
Requirements and Skills
- Level 1 qualification, or minimum 6–12 months experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Good attention to detail
