Job Location: Otago, Queenstown

Type: Permanent, Full time 

Days required: Rotating roster, including weekends & public holidays

Hours per week: 30 to 35 hours per week

Hourly Pay: $30-$35 per hour 

We are a busy hospitality business in Otago committed to delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service. We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our restaurant and ensure exceptional customer service and operational excellence. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise and direct the overall operations of the restaurant.

  • Manage daily front-of-house operations and ensure excellent customer service.

  •  Plan menus in consultation with the Chef.

  • Organise special functions and catering events.

  • Recruit, train, supervise and roster staff.

  • Monitor staff performance and ensure service standards are maintained.

  • Manage purchasing, stock control and supplier relationships.

  • Maintain records of stock, sales and financial transactions.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, licensing, health and safety and employment legislation.

  • Resolve customer complaints professionally and efficiently.

  • Develop strategies to improve sales, profitability and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure the restaurant is clean, safe and presented to a high standard.Skills Required:

Applicants should have either:

  • NZQF Level 5 or higher qualification in Hospitality Management, Business or a related field; or

  • At least three years of relevant management experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment.

Applicants should also:

  • Have proven leadership and people management skills.

  • Possess excellent communication and organisational abilities.

  • Be capable of working under pressure in a busy hospitality environment.

  • Have sound knowledge of budgeting, stock control and customer service.

  • Be available to work flexible rostered hours including weekends and public holidays.
