We operate a couple of Chinese restaurants in Christchurch. We are currently looking for two Chefs to join our team.
This is a permanent role. You will be required to work 30-50 hours per week. The working days may fall on any day of a week. Rosters will be provided to you one week in advance.

Requirements
- At least 1-year work experience in Chinese cuisine.Or
- Any Cooking Certificate or above qualification. And
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Responsible, reliable and hardworking.
- Experience in Chinese cuisine is preferred.
Key Duties
- Plan menus, estimate food costs and order ingredients from suppliers.
- Prepare and cook Chinese dishes according to the restaurant’s standards.
- Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Discuss food preparation issues with managers, kitchen staff and waiting staff.
- Store, freeze and preserve food properly when required.
- Follow and enforce food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
- Assist with selecting and training kitchen staff when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and efficient kitchen environment.
