We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Cook to join our hospitality team in the Canterbury region.
This is a full‑time permanent role with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, offering a starting pay rate of $25.00–$30.00 per hour depending on experience. You will work according to a roster, including weekends and late evenings. Reliable transport is essential, as you will be required to travel between venues when needed.
About the Role
We are seeking a committed cook who can maintain high standards across our kitchens and contribute positively to our team. You will be responsible for daily food preparation, maintaining quality, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily food items to meet quality and presentation standards
- Train and support junior kitchen staff
- Estimate daily production needs and check the quality of raw and cooked products
- Ensure food preparation, production, and presentation are consistently of high quality
- Follow all standard procedures for food preparation, receiving, storage, and sanitation
- Maintain full knowledge of menu items, recipes, and production methods
- Uphold hygiene, safety, and correct use of kitchen equipment
- Meet production deadlines and maintain efficient workflow
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper storage of all food items
- Enforce health codes and cleanliness standards in all kitchen and storage areas
- Ensure accurate plating, portion control, garnishing, and use of correct serving dishes
- Comply with all health and safety regulations
Requirements
- A relevant qualification at Level 4 or above, or
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
