Primary Purpose of the Role:
To plan, prepare, and cook daily meals for the estate, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen organisation.
- Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed.
- Applicants must pass pre-employment drug test.
- Applicants must provide a CV.
- At least 2 years relevant experience is required OR relevant tertiary education
- Employee housing is available on-site. Accommodation may be shared or private, depending on availability at the time of successful placement. No pets allowed.
- Drive-in applicants must be able to demonstrate they can reliably meet the requirements of the roster; candidates residing outside a reasonable commuting distance who are unwilling to relocate may be considered unsuitable for these operational reasons.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare meals for the estate according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Cook and present dishes to a high standard, ensuring consistency, flavour, and quality.
- Manage food preparation tasks, including chopping, marinating, portioning, and organising ingredients.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene by cleaning work surfaces, utensils, and equipment as part of standard food-safety practice.
- Monitor stock levels and advise on purchasing ingredients and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with food-safety regulations, including safe storage, temperature control, and cleanliness.
- Organise the kitchen to ensure efficient workflow and safe food handling.
- Assist with menu planning and meal scheduling for the household.
