We are looking for a motivated and experienced Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our retail store. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the store operates efficiently, delivers excellent customer service, and meets business performance objectives.

Position: Store Manager
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week
Pay Rate: NZD $29.00 - $35.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the business to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
  • Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and maintain accurate inventory records to ensure products are always available.
  • Set product prices, plan special offers, and assist with promotional activities to help grow sales.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and support staff, including preparing work rosters and allocating daily duties.
  • Ensure the business complies with food safety, health and safety, and all other relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment, ensuring food preparation and customer service areas are presented to a high standard.
  • Manage daily cash handling, banking, and sales records, and assist with payroll and financial records as required.
  • Monitor sales and operating costs, identify opportunities to improve business performance, and help achieve profitability targets.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure stock is delivered on time and maintain positive working relationships with customers, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties reasonably required to support the efficient and successful operation of the business.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Three years of relevant retail management experience, or a relevant Level 4 qualification or higher.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience in stock control, purchasing, merchandising, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and solve problems effectively.
