Pharmacy Technician

🧾 Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions and preparing medications.
• Perform accurate labeling, counting, and packaging of medicines.
• Maintain patient records and prescription files.
• Manage stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and monitoring expiry dates.
• Ensure the dispensary is clean, organised, and compliant with pharmacy procedures.
• Provide basic health advice and assist customers with over-the-counter medicines.
• Refer complex customer and clinical queries to the pharmacist when required.
• Handle administrative duties including invoices, records, reports, and other pharmacy documentation.

✅ Minimum Qualifications / Skills / Experience

• At least 2 years of relevant healthcare, pharmacy, dispensary, or related experience.
• Some healthcare or pharmacy-related experience.
• Must be a Level 3 to Level 5 Dispensing Technician, or
• Be eligible and willing to enrol in the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Programme through Open Polytechnic.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment and manage multiple tasks.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
