As our business continues to expand into Southeast Asia, particularly the Vietnamese and Singaporean markets, we are seeking an experienced Senior Travel Consultant – Inbound to join our growing team.

Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $60,000–$65,000 per annum (before tax)(depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Setting up business plans for growing the Vietnamese and Singaporean markets, including planning new tour programmes, budgeting, sales forecasting, market share reporting, and profit margin analysis.
- Dealing with overseas agents, guides, Tourism New Zealand and regional tourism organisations, as well as handling disciplinary matters and customer complaints should they arise.
- Researching and travelling to emerging Southeast Asian markets to explore new business opportunities.
- Maintaining a high level of professionalism when dealing with overseas agents to establish and foster strong business relationships.
- Maintaining a high level of professionalism when dealing with local suppliers to establish and maintain strong business relationships.
- Preparing quotations, making bookings, issuing vouchers and invoices.
- Meeting and coordinating tour groups at airports, restaurants and hotels.
- Assisting tour groups during tours in special circumstances, when required.
- Following up outstanding payments
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- At least three years' experience as a Travel Consultant, Inbound Tour Consultant, Tour Operator, or in a similar role within the travel industry.
- Previous Tour Guide experience, particularly within the Vietnamese inbound tourism market, is highly desirable, as it provides valuable knowledge of itinerary planning, customer service, and the needs and expectations of Vietnamese travellers.
- Strong knowledge of inbound tourism operations, itinerary planning and travel reservations.
- Excellent customer service, communication and relationship management skills.
- Experience dealing with overseas travel agents, suppliers and tourism partners.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple bookings and deadlines simultaneously.
- A proactive approach to developing new tourism products and identifying business opportunities.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- The ability to communicate in additional languages, particularly Vietnamese and/or other Southeast Asian languages, is essential, as the company is actively expanding its inbound tourism services to the Vietnamese and Singaporean markets and requires effective communication with clients from these regions.
