About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and organised Housekeeping Manager to manage and supervise the housekeeping operations at ourĀ 

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, hygiene, and guest satisfaction throughout the property. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a busy housekeeping team effectively.

Employment Type: Full-time
Hours: Minimum [30] hours per week
Pay Rate: $28 to 35 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, and supervise daily housekeeping operations.

  • Allocate duties and prepare work schedules for housekeeping staff.

  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, bathrooms, and other facilities to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained.

  • Train, supervise, and support housekeeping employees.

  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback where required.

  • Ensure rooms are cleaned and prepared within the required timeframes.

  • Coordinate with reception, maintenance, and management regarding room availability and maintenance issues.

  • Manage housekeeping supplies, linen, cleaning products, and equipment.

  • Maintain stock records and arrange orders when required.

  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, hygiene, and cleaning procedures.

  • Respond professionally to guest requests and complaints relating to housekeeping services.

  • Report damaged equipment, furniture, or property to management.

  • Assist with cleaning duties during busy periods or when required.

  • Control housekeeping costs and minimise unnecessary wastage.

  • Maintain accurate records, checklists, and reports.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant should have:

  • 2 years of housekeeping experience or a relevant qualification.

  • Strong leadership and team-management skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Good communication and organisational skills.

  • Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and health and safety procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.

  • A professional and customer-focused attitude.

  • Basic computer and record-keeping skills.

Other Requirements

  • Must be available to work weekends, public holidays, early mornings, and evenings when required.

  • Must be physically fit and able to perform housekeeping duties.

  • Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
