VEKARIA ENTERPRISE LIMITED T/A SEQUOIA EATERY ROTORUA is seeking a skilled and motivated BAKER to join our team in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced baker who enjoys working in a fast-paced café  environment and takes pride in producing high-quality baked goods while maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards.

 Position: BAKER

Hourly rate: $30-$32 per hour

Guaranteed hours: 30 per week

Maximum hours: 50 per week

Location: Rotorua & Bay of Plenty

Your duties will include:

• Baking a variety of products including pies, sausage rolls, bread rolls, pastries, donuts, muffins, cookies, cakes, and slices.
• Preparing custards, sauces, chocolates, fillings, and desserts.
• Mixing, kneading, rolling, moulding, and shaping dough.
• Preparing customer orders to a high standard.
• Checking the quality and freshness of raw ingredients.
• Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
• Working confidently with meat products, including identifying spoilage and handling them safely.
• Loading, unloading, cooling, de-panning, cleaning, greasing, and maintaining baking trays and equipment.
• Ordering ingredients and supplies based on daily production requirements.
• Keeping the bakery clean, organised, and compliant with food safety regulations.
• Following workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.
• Working collaboratively with the team and maintaining clear communication.
• Following rostered hours and arriving on time for every shift.

Requirements

• At least 2 years' relevant experience working in the similar role
• However, A New Zealand Level 4 qualification may substitute the requirement of work experience

You should also have:

• Experience producing a wide variety of bakery products.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques and bakery equipment.
• Experience working with meat products.
• Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• A positive attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
• Reliability and punctuality.
