SHARVI NZ LIMITED T/A SUBWAY WHANGANUI is a recognised food retail business operating within the Manawatu-Wanganui Region, New Zealand. We are currently seeking THREE motivated and reliable Sandwich Artists to join our friendly and dynamic team.

Position Details

Position: Sandwich Artist
Location: Whanganui, Manawatu-Wanganui Region, New Zealand
Employment Type: Full-Time (minimum 30 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour
Work Schedule: Rostered shifts including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, public holidays, split shifts, and floating shifts. Applicants must be available to work weekends as required.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Preparing food including sandwich preparation, bread baking, and cookie baking
  • Maintaining food preparation and storage areas in accordance with Health and Safety requirements and audit standards
  • Following Subway® Food Safety and Food Code of Practice requirements
  • Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system and handling customer transactions
  • Monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory control
  • Receiving and checking deliveries
  • Completing daily and weekly cleaning schedules
  • Following security and workplace safety procedures
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and team members
  • Maintaining excellent personal presentation while wearing the provided Subway® uniform
  • Working effectively as part of a team
  • Providing high-quality customer service and assisting customers with their food and catering needs

Skills and Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong focus on presentation and attention to detail
  • A positive attitude with the ability to learn quickly and work proactively
  • Basic English communication skills to interact with customers and team members
  • Basic mathematical skills for operating the cash register and handling transactions
  • Flexibility to work across all rostered shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical duties
  • Ability to manually lift items weighing up to 25kg
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer service
