About Us

Gloria Jeans Glenfield is a busy café committed to providing high-quality coffee, fresh food, and excellent customer service. We are looking for an experienced and motivated person to lead our team and oversee the café's day-to-day operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires excellent organisational skills, strong customer service, and the ability to manage staff while maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise and oversee the daily operations of the café to ensure efficient and profitable business performance.
  • Lead, supervise and motivate café staff by preparing work rosters, allocating duties and monitoring performance.
  • Recruit, train and support new employees while maintaining a positive and productive team environment.
  • Ensure customers receive friendly, efficient and professional service and resolve customer concerns promptly.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality to ensure products consistently meet the café's standards.
  • Manage stock levels by ordering food, beverages and other supplies, checking deliveries and minimising wastage.
  • Monitor inventory and ensure adequate stock is available at all times.
  • Assist in planning menus, seasonal promotions and sales initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and increase revenue.
  • Monitor daily sales, expenses and operating costs and assist in achieving business targets.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to stock, purchases, sales and other business operations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety requirements and all relevant legislation.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality products and negotiate where appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming café environment for customers and staff.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures and provide operational support during busy service periods.
  • Perform other management duties reasonably required for the efficient operation of the café.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least two years of experience in café, restaurant or hospitality management, organisational management experience, or a relevant qualification in retail, business, management, hospitality, organisational leadership or psychology, human resource management, a related field may be considered in place of 2 years of practical work experience.
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of café operations, food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Experience in stock control, ordering and cost management.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy hospitality environment.
  • Good organisational, problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using POS and stock management systems would be an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and public holidays when required.
