We are seeking 3 caring and professional Health Care Assistants to join our team in a well-established rest home providing high-quality residential aged care services. The role involves delivering compassionate, person-centred support to residents in partnership with nurses and other healthcare staff.

Location of Work: Auckland

Number of Vacancies: 3

Type of employment: full time, guaranteed minimum 30 hours per week

Days required: shifting between Monday to Sunday

Pay: $28 - $31 per hour based on qualification and experience

Your duties will include:

  • Provide daily personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence care.
  • Assist residents with safe mobility, transfers, and use of mobility aids.
  • Support residents with eating, drinking, and medication reminders under supervision.
  • Make beds, tidy resident rooms, and maintain a clean, safe environment in accordance with infection-control standards.
  • Observe, document, and promptly report changes in resident health or behaviour to the Registered Nurse or Supervisor.
  • Offer companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to promote residents’ dignity and well-being.
  • Follow individual care plans, rest-home policies, and Health & Safety requirements at all times.

Successful applicants will have:

  • Relevant NZ qualification (Level 4) or equivalent qualification; OR at least three years of relevant experience in aged care or disability support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of personal care procedures, manual handling, and infection control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Police vetting clearance required.
