Idoo Viet Kitchen and Café is a popular local restaurant in Richmond, New Zealand serving fresh North Vietnamese food, pho, and banh mi. We're looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys developing a positive team culture.

About the Role As Duty Manager, you'll be responsible for leading restaurant and bar service shifts, ensuring our guests receive exceptional hospitality while maintaining high operational standards throughout every shift. What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading restaurant and bar service during busy shifts.
  • Supervising and motivating the front of house team.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and resolving guest issues professionally.
  • Preparing and serving beverages to a high standard.
  • Maintaining compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act.
  • Managing cash handling and daily operational procedures.
  • Working closely with the kitchen to ensure smooth service.
  • Setting the standard through a positive, hands-on approach.

What We're Looking For

  • Current New Zealand Duty Manager's Certificate (essential).
  • Previous experience in both restaurant and bar service.
  • Confident leading a team in a busy hospitality environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Positive attitude with strong work ethic.
  • Calm under pressure and able to make sound decisions.
  • Well presented, reliable and punctual.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Able to work legally in New Zealand with no employer sponsorship (essential).
