Ruby Bella & Ken Limited, established in April 2024, operates a Vietnamese restaurant under the trading name Tran's Kitchen, located in Pukekohe, Auckland. The restaurant features a vibrant Vietnamese-inspired menu and offers all-day dining to delight guests' palates. We are seeking a passionate Restaurant Manager to support these improvements, oversee daily operations, and enhance the restaurant’s competitiveness and growth.

 

As competition in the Vietnamese restaurant sector continues to grow, we aim to strengthen our market position by improving service quality, adapting our menu to customer preferences and market trends, and enhancing marketing activities. We are therefore seeking a passionate Restaurant Manager to support these improvements, oversee daily operations, and enhance the restaurant’s competitiveness and growth.

About the role:

To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of what makes a great customer service and maintains a long-term relationship. You should also be able to plan and organize marketing activities and special functions.

Ultimately, you will be responsible for maintaining & encouraging a professional & positive working environment, promoting productivity, ensuring quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily front and back-of-house operation.
  • Supervise and train staff, prepare rosters, and monitor team performance.
  • Ensure consistent food and service quality aligned with brand standards.
  • Working with Chefs to develop and tailor menus in response to market trends and customer needs.
  • Planning marketing and promotional activities, including events, discounts and advertising, based on market needs and restaurant standards.
  • Planning and organizing special functions.
  • Maintaining relationship with customers and developing loyalty customers.
  • Monitoring and managing customer complaints.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction and follow restaurant procedures to increase productivity.
  • Arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget
  • Developing new suppliers and maintain relationship with the current suppliers
  • Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions
  • Coordinating with the management for everyday operation and maintain financial and administrative records.
  • Recruiting, managing and motivating staff both as individuals to realize their maximum potential

The qualification and work experience requirements

  • A Diploma (Level 6) or higher in Hospitality, Management, or a closely related field, with an understanding of marketing and customer preferences, is preferred; OR
  • A minimum of three years’ relevant managerial experience, preferably within the hospitality industry.

  • Strong communication skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle customer complaints tactfully and professionally
  • Ability to communicate in English and Vietnamese is preferred, as these languages are commonly used by our customers and suppliers.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • A current Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain
