Pay Rate: $30.00–$35.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience)

Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week (up to 45 hours per week)

Days of Work: Monday to Sunday (including weekends and public holidays as required)

About the Role

We are looking for two reliable and motivated Cooks to join our team in Christchurch. You will work under the supervision of experienced chefs and management to help prepare quality food while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food under the direction of the Chef.

• Cook fried food using commercial deep fryers.

• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, measuring, and mixing food items.

• Monitor food quality and ensure consistency in preparation and presentation.

• Store, freeze, and preserve food correctly.

• Take customer orders, serve food, and process payments when required.

• Pack takeaway orders and add sauces, gravies, and garnishes.

• Operate kitchen equipment including grills, microwaves, and deep fryers safely.

• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including fryers, hoods, benches, and equipment.

• Wash dishes and kitchen utensils as required.

• Follow food safety, health, and hygiene procedures at all times.

• Carry out other reasonable duties related to the role as directed by management.

Skills and Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.

• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays when rostered.

• Well-organised with a positive attitude toward work.

• Previous experience in a fast food or commercial kitchen is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

• Must have a clean criminal history.

• Must be able to pass any pre-employment checks required by the employer.
