Hostel Manager  

Location: Auckland
Pay Range: $30–$35 per hour

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Hostel Manager to join our hostel business in Auckland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hostel, ensuring a high standard of guest service, maintaining smooth operations, and supporting the team to create a welcoming and positive environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the hostel

  • Manage guest check-ins, check-outs, bookings, and enquiries

  • Lead, support, and coordinate hostel staff

  • Ensure rooms and common areas are maintained to a high standard

  • Handle guest feedback, concerns, and complaints professionally

  • Monitor occupancy, bookings, and operational requirements

  • Coordinate cleaning and maintenance activities

  • Ensure health, safety, and company policies are followed

  • Help create a friendly, safe, and enjoyable environment for guests

  • Assist with improving operational efficiency and guest satisfaction

About You

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accommodation, hospitality, or hostel management experience

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Previous experience managing or supervising a team

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

  • Professional, friendly, and approachable personality

  • Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays when required

  • Experience with booking or property management systems is an advantage
