Clinical Nurse Coordinator, NRT, Integrated Operations Centre (IOC), Waikato Hospital
0.9 FTE Fixed term to cover secondment until 10th August 2027
This role is rostered Monday to Sunday 0600-2430hrs, supporting staffing coordination and patient flow across 33 inpatient areas at Waikato Hospital.

About the Role
As a NRT CNC, you will be responsible for coordinating the deployment NRT staff across acute inpatient areas to support safe staffing levels and effective patient flow. Working within the IOC, you will collaborate closely with the Duty Nurse Manager team, Charge Nurse Managers, shift coordinators, and the Care Capacity Demand Management (CCDM).
This includes coordinating and reallocating staff under CCDM principle, as required to meet changing clinical demands. You will act as a key link between the NRT and the ward teams, by supporting acuity and variance with effective communication and operational decision-making to ensure safe staffing levels and efficient patient flow.

Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate the deployment and allocation of Nursing Resource Team staff across acute inpatient areas
- Monitor staffing variances and support CCDM processes to ensure safe staffing levels
- Work collaboratively with Duty Nurse Managers, Charge Nurse Managers and ward coordinators to support changing service needs
- Support safe patient care by ensuring appropriate resource to meet acuity demand
- Maintain accurate staffing records and utilise digital systems to support operational decision making
- Clear and effective communication skills to deliver well informed decisions while maintaining a professional approach
About you
As a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse, you will bring strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate as a Registered Nurse
- 5 years tertiary nursing experience, preference given to co-ordination and senior nurse experience
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively across services
- Proven ability to prioritise, problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure
- Experience or familiarity with systems such as VIS, iPM, OneStaff, CapPlan, Patient Flow Management (PFM) plus CCDM/TrendCare is desirable
- Post Graduate advantageous PDRP desirable
