Mixed Animal Veterinarian Opportunity

Our client is seeking a capable Mixed Animal Veterinarian for a locum or fixed-term opportunity of approximately six months within a well-established rural practice. This role offers a balanced caseload across both companion animals and farm clients, providing variety and the chance to work within a supportive and experienced team.

The position is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys diversity in their day-to-day work and can confidently transition between clinic-based small animal care and on-farm large animal duties. You will be supported by skilled colleagues and nursing staff, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality veterinary services across all areas of practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing consultations and treatment for companion animals in clinic
  • Supporting farm clients with herd health and livestock care
  • Performing routine surgeries and assisting with field procedures
  • Managing a varied caseload across both small and large animals
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure smooth daily workflow

Qualifications Needed:

  • Eligible for registration in New Zealand
  • Experience or strong interest in mixed animal practice
  • Confidence in both clinical and field-based environments
  • Good communication skills with a client-focused approach
  • Ability to adapt quickly within a locum or fixed-term role
