Registered Nurse - Ophthalmology

About the Role
As a Registered Nurse Ophthalmology, you will provide high quality nursing care within the Ophthalmology Outpatient Service, supporting patients through assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of a range of eye conditions. You will work closely with patients and whānau to deliver safe, evidence based care and provide education and support that promotes positive health outcomes.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will build specialist knowledge in ophthalmic nursing while working alongside a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and support staff. You will contribute to efficient outpatient service delivery, support patient flow, and play an important role in ensuring patients receive a seamless and positive care experience.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our Ophthalmology Outpatient Service provides specialist eye care to patients across Hawke's Bay. Based in Hastings, you will join a dedicated team committed to delivering high quality, patient centred care and improving access to specialist services for our community.
About you
As a Registered Nurse, you will bring:
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Strong clinical nursing skills and a commitment to evidence based practice
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equitable health outcomes
- Previous ophthalmology or outpatient experience would be advantageous but is not essential
