Administration Assistant/Receptionist, Cardiac Investigation Unit

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administration Assistant/Receptionist to join the Cardiac Investigation Unit. This role is an important part of the Cardiology team, providing a welcoming first point of contact for patients, whānau, visitors and staff, while delivering efficient and effective administrative support to the service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming and assisting patients, whānau and visitors attending Cardiology clinics and wards.
- Providing way-finding assistance and ensuring patients and whānau receive the information they need on arrival and departure.
- Performing general reception and administrative duties.
- Providing administrative support to the Cardiology team.
- Managing referrals, outpatient appointments and inpatient surgical bookings for Counties Manukau Health patients across the organisation.
- Supporting the smooth and efficient operation of Cardiology clinics and services, which may be held across a variety of Health New Zealand facilities.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, based at Middlemore Hospital.

You are organised, proactive and thrive in a busy environment. You have excellent attention to detail, a positive attitude and enjoy providing quality service and support to patients and clinical teams. To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of one years administration experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.
- Previous experience in reception or customer-facing functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a team.
