About the Role

We are seeking an Allied Health Assistant to join the Advancing Wellness at Home Initiative (AWHI team). The focus of this position is to provide short-term homebased support with personal cares and rehabilitation for people following discharge from the hospital wards.

The role will include weekend work and some evening shift work (up to 7pm). You will be responsible for supporting AWHI patients in their homes with personal care tasks, household management tasks, rehabilitation programs and equipment installation.

About the Team/Service Location

We know people recover more quickly at home so the main focus of AWHI is to work with people in their own home to help them regain or maintain their independence after a hospital admission. These people may have been medically unwell, sustained a significant injury or had a stroke. In our team we have Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Speech Language Therapists and Allied Health Assistants. In this role you would have the opportunity to provide essential support to allow patients to live well at home.
