About the role

The primary purpose of the role is to provide diagnostic and rehabilitative audiological services to children and adults, as well as participation in teaching /research as appropriate within the audiology service, hospital and local community.

The Audiologist provides excellent clinical care to patients, ensures delivery of service is in line with international best practice, participates in appropriate auditing & peer review and focuses on patients needs and provides high levels of customer service.

About the Service

Starship Community provides multidisciplinary care and cultural support to children, young people and their whānau living within the Auckland area. Our nursing, allied health and technical staff deliver health care services to children, young people, and their whānau in their home, school and community settings. A part of this service is the Hearing & Ear Health team consisting of our talented Audiologists, Newborn Hearing Screeners, Ear Nurses and Vision and Hearing Technicians.

About you

As the ideal candidate for this role you will:

  • Hold a clean, current and full NZ drivers license
  • Have a Masters degree in Audiology (or equivalent)
  • Be computer literate; able to word process and develop simple spreadsheets or databases.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme UNHSEIP and protocols.
  • Have a commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
  • Have NZAS C.C.C (desired)
  • Experience in paediatric audiology, hearing aid fitting and evoked potential testing (desired)
