About the role

This role is to ensure workforce readiness, maintain compliance with Nga Paerewa standards, and mitigate risks to patient safety and service delivery.

Facilitation of education will be the central focus of the role, as it isn't expected that candidates will have in-depth knowledge of all outpatient services.

  • Support new and existing staff within Outpatients with the provision of education, training and resources that ensure practice is current, evidence-based and fit for purpose
  • Collaborate alongside nurses, medical colleagues, as well as other educators within the wider PDU team
  • Provide practice and professional development opportunities that enhance service delivery, quality and safety alongside improved patient outcomes.
  • Use critical incidents as an opportunity for staff development.
  • Act as a resource person and support staff to achieve Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) requirements.
  • Mentor nurses and preceptors where appropriate.
  • Networks nationally and internationally and keeps up to date on trends and developments within education

  • Proven experience leading or teaching others,
  • Current APC and already hold NZ working rights

Salary range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expred NZNO CEA, and the salary will be in accordance with the Designated Senior Nurse Grade 1 Pay Scale, between $114,025 and $121,444 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
