About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist, you will deliver high-quality, client-centred assessment and intervention within the Tumanako Inpatient and He Manu Pae Sub Acute Units. Your day will involve working closely with tangata whaiora to develop personalised plans that support recovery, independence, and successful reintegration into the community.

You will participate in a multidisciplinary team environment, contributing to care planning, therapeutic programmes, and discharge planning. This role offers variety and challenge, from facilitating therapeutic groups to completing comprehensive assessments and collaborating with community services to ensure continuity of care.

About You

As an Occupational Therapist, you will bring a strong clinical foundation and passion for mental health care, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Current registration and practising certificate with The Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand
  • Experience working in a mental health setting (inpatient experience is desirable)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build therapeutic relationships
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to culturally safe practice
  • Ability to contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
