Casual Health Care Assistant

Westella Homestead offers dementia care in a serene, gardened rural setting, supporting up to 26 residents. As a small, values-driven team, we are seeking a casual Health Care Assistant to provide relief coverage for both planned and immediate leave. Operating 24/7, we welcome compassionate and skilled applicants who bring plenty of aroha to caring for elderly individuals living with dementia.

The Role:

Our casual roles cover leave for permanent Support Workers, providing you with the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a small team environment to support elderly people experiencing dementia.

The hours of work are irregular and offered when available. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

About you:

  • A current full New Zealand Driver Licence
  • A current first aid certificate or are willing to obtain one
  • A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing is preferred, or a willingness to study towards achieving this qualification
  • Able to be flexible and available for varying shifts
