Clinical Midwife Manager Opportunity

Join our skilled and experienced clinical midwifery leadership team on Labour and Birthing Unit. Immediate start for the right candidate. This is a 0.7 FTE, fixed term, part-time (maternity leave cover 12 months) role.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Clinical Midwife Manager for our Labour and Birthing suite. We need your expert midwifery assessment skills and work with us to provide awesome care to women accessing our acute services.

Labour and Birthing Unit (LBS)

Our LBS is a fantastic place to use your leadership skills and grow within this space. We are a quaternary hospital and cover high risk births but also primary births. We have two maternity complex care rooms where we look after high risk inductions of labour, antenatal and intrapartum care. Our team includes Midwife Manager, Clinical Midwife Managers, Midwives, Health Care Assistants and Ward Clerks. The team liaise closely with the multidisciplinary team, including our medical teams, community LMC midwives and private obstetricians with access to our facility.

About The Role

In this role, you will provide clinical leadership on the floor and ensure coordination, and integration between the units enhancing patient flow and care.

We are also looking for:

  • Significant experience, including intra-partum care within a secondary/tertiary unit is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills and flexibility; this combined with optimum use of resources will ensure the provision of efficient, effective and quality healthcare which enhances women's care.
  • Excellent communication skills with the capacity to innovate and motivate others, within a changing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Tiriti O Waitangi and Turanga Kaupapa

Important Skills:

  • Knowledge of the NZ Maternity system and significant proven midwifery experience (5 years minimum) within a secondary/ tertiary unit is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills and flexibility; this combined with optimum use of resources will ensure the provision of efficient, effective and quality healthcare.
  • Excellent communication skills with the capacity to innovate and motivate others, within a changing environment.
