About the Role
This role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist with experience in inpatient assessment, treatment and rehabilitation (ATR) services. You'll work with adults (18+) facing disability or age-related challenges, helping restore their functional abilities and independence through coordinated multidisciplinary care. Bonus if you're accredited in: wheelchair, postural management and basic housing modifications.

Based in the STAR (Treatment, Assessment & Rehabilitation) unit, Palmerston North Hospital. Our Occupational Therapy team plays a vital role in helping patients regain independence and quality of life after illness, injury, or surgery. We focus on holistic, patient-centred care, safe discharge planning and meaningful engagement in daily life.

About You
We are looking for an occupational therapist who:
- Is enthusiastic, energetic, resilient, with a 'can do' attitude
- Has experience and the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to adapt and flex to trial new ways of working
- Strong desire to help clients and whānau achieve their goals
- Effective written, oral and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist, with a current practicing certificate
- Holds Enable NZ Accredited Assessor status, Service Accredited or eligible to become accredited with appropriate training
- A full, current, driver's licence is essential
- Holds relevant residency status to work in New Zealand
