About the role
We are looking for someone who would thrive with the opportunity to lead change to be creative and support Te Toka Tumai staff to address intimate partner violence in our community.
This role is a member of a high performing team of four and has an overarching view of the day-to-day functioning within the team, including but not limited to:
- a consistent communication between the team, Te Toka Tumai and partner agencies
- co-facilitating full day trainings
- managing and talking Te Toka Tumai staff through the documentation process
- implementation of the VIP programme to new areas
- policy review and development
- Exploring new and vibrant ways of bringing intimate partner violence to the front and it being seen as a health issue.
- an opportunity to be on the on-call roster for Te Puaruruhau (nursing only)

About the Team/Service/Location
Te Puaruruhau is an internationally-recognised centre of excellence in child protection practice. We are co-located with the Te Toka Tumai Family Violence Team, the National Power to Protect Programme, Police and Oranga Tamariki to provide a unique multi-agency service addressing the child protection needs of New Zealands most vulnerable children and young people and their whānau.
The Family Violence Intervention (FVI) Team are a part of Te Puaruruhau and deliver the Ministry of Health Violence Intervention Programme (VIP) across Te Toka Tumai.
The programme educates Te Toka Tumai staff on how to safely ask patients/parents/caregivers about intimate partner violence and what the process is should someone disclose. The FVI team are committed and enthusiastic about progressing change in a health world which often sees family violence as a social issue when it has a huge impact on peoples health and wellbeing.

About you
Our Te Puaruruhau team is looking for someone who:
- Is an experienced facilitator/ teacher within an adult learning environment
- Holds a clinical qualification
- Works well within a small team
- Has sound knowledge of the New Zealand health system with specific knowledge regarding Family Violence intervention
