Registered Nurse - Maternity Services
Join our maternity team at Southland Hospital and make a real difference to the experience of new parents, their babies and whānau. You will be working in a modern, well-equipped hospital supported by a team who value the care we offer mothers, babies and whanau.
In this role you will be using your valuable nursing experience to provide the best possible care to new parents and pēpi as they set out on their new parenting journey. The Maternity Unit at Southland Hospital births around 1200 babies every year and work very closely together with the LMC's to ensure that both mother and baby get the level and type of care that they deserve.
We are looking for an experienced NZ Registered Nurse with a real desire to work with postnatal people and pēpi at this life changing time. Ideally you will have experience working with whānau, preferably within a maternity or paediatric setting. Breast-feeding experience would be great but is not essential as training will be given. You will be provided with support on each shift as you work under the direction and delegation of a Registered Midwife.
Be a New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current annual practicing certificate (APC)
Possess excellent assessment skills
Have a passion and focus for working with whānau with compassion and kindness
Be an exceptional team player who has strong communication skills
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the NZNO Nursing & Midwifery Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($77,667) pro rata and Step 7 ($109,407) pro rata p.a.
