About the Role
Whanganui Hospital's Emergency Department is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse to join our ED nursing team on a permanent basis.
Our combined department cares for both adult and paediatric patients and sees a diverse range of trauma, medical, and surgical presentations. This creates a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. The successful applicant will work rostered and rotating shifts and contribute to high‑quality, compassionate emergency care.

About You
You must have:
- Current New Zealand Nurse Registration
- At least 5 consecutive years of New Zealand nursing experience
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a skilled team
- Excellent communication skills with patients, whānau, and colleagues
- A commitment to delivering optimal, safe, and culturally responsive care
- The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A strong focus on continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery
- A commitment to whānau-centred, compassionate acute patient care
