Ward Clerk
We are looking for a Ward Clerk to join Ward 29, Planned Care, at Palmerston North Hospital. This role provides a high standard of reception, clerical, and data entry support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the ward.
You will be the first point of contact for patients, whānau, visitors, and staff, providing professional and courteous support. Key responsibilities include answering and monitoring phone calls, greeting patients and visitors, maintaining accurate admission, discharge and transfer records, updating patient information, preparing clinical records, printing patient labels and results, sorting mail and documentation, and supporting the Charge Nurse and wider team with general clerical tasks.
This is a busy and varied role where your attention to detail, confidentiality, communication skills, and ability to prioritise will help support positive patient outcomes and effective ward operations.

Previous clerical experience and working knowledge of hospital routines would be advantageous, but are not essential.
This role involves contact with children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to meet the statutory and organisational requirements for working with children, including a satisfactory police check and other safety checking processes
