Registered Nurse, Infection Prevention Control
This position offers the opportunity to focus on building infection prevention and control skill, knowledge and expertise to support the infection prevention and control programme at MidCentral Health. Within the scope of this position the role will support the work of the team.
We are looking for nurses with the following:
- Registered Comprehensive Nurse/Registered General and Obstetric Nurse with current practicing certificate
- Demonstrated experience in a broad nursing background with a clinical mix
- Willingness to undertake tertiary specific Infection Prevention education
- Current Independent Vaccinators Certificate
- Gold auditor for hand hygiene
- Current drivers licence
Personal Attributes: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, Positive and enthusiastic approach to work, Professional demeanour, Analytical and Decision-Making Ability, Well defined understanding of professional nursing with the ability to relate this to service and clinical outcomes, Demonstrated problem solving skills
Technical: Computer skills including Word and Excel, Familiarity with Trendcare, Clinical Portal, Webpas, Miya
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated registered nurse to join our small team. We undertake surveillance e.g. surgical site infection and audits: Hand Hygiene etc,. The hours of work will be 0.5 FTE working set hours between 07.30 -16.30 on specified days. Days will be negotiated with preferred candidate.
Develop skills and expertise to support the IPC team e.g. outbreaks of infectious diseases, ward rounds, Take part in staff education e.g.: hand over education, incidental teaching
