Support Worker

Work alongside tāngata whaiora to maintain physical, emotional & spiritual wellness. Assist them with meal prep, clean-up & other daily living tasks.

The Role

This is a Fixed term, full-time role. You'll be working shifts from Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

In this role you will:

  • Support people in a mental health adult respite setting, working individually and as part of a team.
  • Be busy supporting people with independent living skills
  • Ensure health and safety during night shifts
  • Be prepared to do whatever it takes for the people we support - medication, cleaning, cooking, personal care and liaising with emergency services when required.

About You

  • Applicants must hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent. Alternatively, you will be willing to commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Pathways. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement. Pathways offer significant support for support workers to complete this study.
  • You must hold a current full New Zealand Driver Licence.
  • You must hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
