Community Support Worker

Full time, permanent position available in the Christchurch Community Team. Sunday – Thursday, 40 hrs per week – 1.30pm – 10pm, starting mid-Aug 2026.

About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

You will be reporting to the Team Coach and joining our Pathways Residential and Recovery Service.

Days/hours of work: Sunday - Thursday. 40 hours weekly – 1.30pm – 10.00pm. Starting mid-August 2026.

You will be working in a team of Support Workers. Responsibilities include:

  • Advocate and support people to be well and thrive.
  • Connect them with resources that support them in living well and assist them in building resilience.
  • Help people connect with their communities, building the relationships that matter most.
  • Foster positive change for a more positive life.
  • Provide medication support for our people.
  • Provide support with household management.
  • Managing a caseload and all reporting requirements.

You | Mōu

  • You must have previous experience working in a community environment and mental health and addictions sector.
  • You must hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised Level 4 equivalent qualification.
  • You must hold a NZ full driver's licence.
  • You must hold a current first aid certificate.
  • You must have excellent time management and record keeping skills.
  • Have knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
