The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Specialist Orthodontist to join our busy Hospital & Specialist Dentistry team in Auckland. We have a permanent, part-time position available.

A rewarding opportunity has now arisen to join the Auckland Hospital & Specialist Dentistry team as a permanent, part-time Specialist Orthodontist for 0.25FTE (10 hours).

You will be joining a supportive team of two orthodontists, an orthodontic auxiliary and a wider, multidisciplinary team of dedicated oral and maxillofacial surgeons, plastic surgeons, dental specialists and dentists.

The orthodontic service is part of Auckland Regional Hospital & Specialist Dentistry providing hospital-based secondary and tertiary level specialist oral health services for people living in the greater Auckland area. The post is based at Middlemore Hospital, South Auckland.

The primary focus of the role is caring for children with cleft lip and palate, and contributing to the care of patients with other craniofacial abnormalities. You will also have opportunities for ongoing professional development, as well as the potential for research involvement.

Important Skills

As the ideal candidate, you will be a qualified dental professional with current registration and an Annual Practising Certificate (APC) from the Dental Council of New Zealand or be eligible for registration as a Specialist Orthodontist with the Dental Council of New Zealand.

You will have a minimum of two years' post-specialisation clinical experience and demonstrate a collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
