Charge Sonographer - Radiology

Based at Whangarei Hospital, permanent part-time positions available. Travel as required to support rural Kaitaia and Bay of Islands Hospitals. Professional development opportunities to grow your knowledge and advance your career.

The primary function of this position is to participate in and maintain an efficient, high quality Ultrasound Services for Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau:

  • Perform appropriately requested examinations, producing quality images in accordance with good professional practice and the relevant protocols.
  • Ensure that all statistical information is entered into the Radiology information system in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist with supervision, support and education to other sonographers including students within the service.

As a Sonographer in our Radiology Department, you will need to have:

  • A recognised/accredited academic qualification
  • NZ Registered Medical Radiation Technologist in Ultrasound
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Recent ultrasound experience within a radiology service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
