About the Role

We are looking for midwives who are up to this new and exciting challenge in Ward 96. As a Clinical Midwife Manager, you will work closely with Midwife Specialists, Midwife Managers and members of the multi-disciplinary team. You will be the go-to person for advice and support. In this role, you have an overview of the occupancy, acuity and manage the admission/discharge process in Maternity.

Ward 96 is unique with an antenatal and postnatal inpatient area as well as a transitional care unit called Whitinga Ora Pepi. The ward has 21 beds, out of which 8 beds are for Whitinga Ora Pepi in collaboration with NICU and Starship. The 13 beds will make up antenatal and postnatal beds specialising in caring for complex whanau who have a network of support services. We provide whanau centred care, in partnership with their LMC.

About You

We are looking for midwives who:

  • Are passionate for whanau centred, evidence-based care.
  • Have extensive knowledge and experience in: primary birthing, postnatal, care of the late preterm infant and care planning for these whānau.
  • These positions have been created to align with our commitment to creating equity and improving care and whānau experience here at Te Toka Tumai.
