Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapist
We are looking for an experienced Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapist to join our Community Child Health Team based at Waitakere Hospital in a fixed term parental leave position that is available through to July 2027.
The role is to provide developmental therapy in the home or community setting for infants and children (0-2 years), in partnership with their family/whanau. Knowledge and experience in the areas of neonates, early child development and neurology is essential.
Whilst the role is full time (1.0FTE), we would be open to applicants requesting part time hours.
You will be joining an experienced and highly skilled multi-disciplinary paediatric community team who are committed to innovative best practice in the context of child-focussed/family centred care, that is based on the family and childs strengths and goals. As a Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapist in the Community Child Health Team, you will be working in a transdisciplinary model, to provide developmental support to infants and young children (0-2 years) with a wide range of developmental difficulties. You will be based in the Child Health Unit at Waitakere Hospital, from where you will connect with whanau and colleagues to plan and provide care in the home or other community setting.
You will have opportunities to grow in skill and knowledge in this role and be provided regular supervision to support your ongoing professional development.

For this role you will need to have:
- A current APC registered as a NZ physiotherapist or occupational therapist
- Knowledge and experience in the areas of neonates, early child development and neurology
- A full NZ drivers license
- A passion for working with young children and their whanau
