About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Theatre Services team. This role provides the opportunity to work across a variety of diverse clinical areas which are under Theatre Services in Whanganui. These include the following:
- Operating Theatre - Scrub and Circulating
- PACU / Recovery
- Endoscopy
- Pre-Admission Clinic
- Day Stay / Pre & Post Operative Unit
- Infusion Services
You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe clinical practice, excellent patient outcomes, and culturally responsive care aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective perioperative nursing care
- Scrub, circulating and/or PACU experience advantageous
- Endoscopy experience advantageous
- Medical infusion experience including Chemotherapy advantageous
- Support patients and whānau through their healthcare journey
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetic teams and wider MDT
- Participate in quality improvement and professional development initiatives
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds current NZ Nursing Council registration and APC
- Has perioperative/theatre nursing experience or experience in any of the other areas mentioned above
- Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Is adaptable in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Is committed to equity, patient-centred care and cultural safety
