About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Theatre Services team. This role provides the opportunity to work across a variety of diverse clinical areas which are under Theatre Services in Whanganui. These include the following:

  • Operating Theatre - Scrub and Circulating
  • PACU / Recovery
  • Endoscopy
  • Pre-Admission Clinic
  • Day Stay / Pre & Post Operative Unit
  • Infusion Services

You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe clinical practice, excellent patient outcomes, and culturally responsive care aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective perioperative nursing care
  • Scrub, circulating and/or PACU experience advantageous
  • Endoscopy experience advantageous
  • Medical infusion experience including Chemotherapy advantageous
  • Support patients and whānau through their healthcare journey
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetic teams and wider MDT
  • Participate in quality improvement and professional development initiatives
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds current NZ Nursing Council registration and APC
  • Has perioperative/theatre nursing experience or experience in any of the other areas mentioned above
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is adaptable in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Is committed to equity, patient-centred care and cultural safety
