Resuscitation Coordinator

Be at the forefront of creating and managing life-saving education for colleagues all across the region and directly impacting patient care in our community.

Join a small team comprising 3 Resuscitation Coordinators, a Simulation Technician, an Administrator, and a Clinical Lead at the Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre. You will report to the Clinical Lead and be supported to work with your team as well as autonomously to achieve success in Resuscitation education for our region.

To be successful in this role you must be a self-starter and able to identify and undertake projects and work on your own initiative and drive. This role will primarily be a teaching appointment providing education on NZRC resuscitation courses and Basic Life Support courses.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Work within the team of resuscitation coordinators to provide resuscitation education to employees across the Te Manawa Taki region.
  • Provide support and advice in the cardiac arrest/medical emergency team, providing clinical support as required if attending an event, or post review debrief.
  • Identify, assess and document clinical risk with clinical practice/equipment and take appropriate action to make improvements.

The Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre is the only purpose-built training facility in the Waikato. We are responsible for the resuscitation education of over 8,000 employees and providing support to many thousands more in other skill and simulation-based sessions. NZRC instructor required, ideally more than 12 months experience. Expertise in all aspects of resuscitation practice. Experience working in an acute care environment. Knowledge of adult teaching and learning principles. Experience in providing training, education, team facilitation and coaching.
