As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for organising, directing and controlling the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar to ensure exceptional customer service, efficient business operations and compliance with all relevant legal and operational requirements. You will work closely with the Directors to achieve the business objectives while independently managing the daily operations of the establishment.

  • Pay: Between $30 to $40 per hour depending on experience.
  • Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours per week, Maximum 40 hours per week.
  • Type: This is a Full-time Permanent Job.

 

Job Requirements

The successful applicant must demonstrate one of the following:

  • A Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or above qualification; or 
  • At least three years of work experience in restaurant, food and beverage, hospitality or hospitality management.

 

Job Responsibilities

The Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Organise, direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar to ensure efficient, safe and profitable business operations.
  • Plan menus in consultation with the Chef, including reviewing seasonal offerings, pricing strategies and customer preferences.
  • Plan, coordinate and oversee special functions, private events and catering services as required.
  • Arrange the purchasing of food, beverages and other operational supplies, negotiate with suppliers where appropriate, and monitor pricing in accordance with approved budgets.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels, conduct regular stocktakes and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Maintain records of sales, stock, purchasing and other financial transactions, and prepare operational reports for the Directors. 
  • Ensure the restaurant, bar and dining facilities comply with all applicable food safety, health, hygiene, licensing and workplace health and safety requirements, and are maintained in a clean, safe and presentable condition.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction, respond to customer enquiries and complaints professionally, and implement improvements to enhance the customer experience.
  • Prepare staff rosters, allocate duties, monitor attendance and manage staff performance to ensure adequate staffing levels during operating hours.
  • Monitor operational costs, including food, beverage and labour costs, and implement measures to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, the Food Act 2014, Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, and all other applicable legislation and company policies.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to improve service quality, productivity and business performance.
  • Liaise regularly with the Directors regarding business performance, staffing requirements, operational issues and opportunities for business improvement.
  • Perform any other management duties reasonably required to support the efficient operation and ongoing success of the business.
