Payrate is $26.00 to $28.00.
The position is full-time and permanent for 30 or more hours per week.

The Cook needs to be able to prepare and cook doner kebab, burgers, wraps, platters, fried chicken and other hot food items.
Job duties:
- Some of the duties and responsibilities you will be responsible for include:
- Preparing ingredients and completing daily food preparation before service.
- Preparing and cooking doner kebab, burgers, wraps, platters and other hot food items.
- Marinating meat and other ingredients according to recipes and business standards.
- Coating and frying chicken and other fried food items safely and consistently.
- Examining foodstuffs and ingredients to ensure quality, freshness and suitability for use.
- Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene, food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness to prevent cross-contamination.
- Regulating and monitoring the temperature of ovens, stoves, grills, fryers and other cooking equipment.
- Checking, recording and maintaining food temperature logs, including chilled, frozen, hot-holding and cooked food temperatures as required.
- Checking inventory and stock levels and informing the Chef/Manager of items that need to be ordered.
- Receiving food and other inventory deliveries, checking quantities, quality, condition and temperatures where required.
- Recording received inventory and maintaining appropriate stock and delivery logs.
- Rotating and storing stock correctly, including food in temperature-controlled facilities.
- Preparing food, seasoning during cooking, portioning food, plating and adding sauces, gravies and garnishes.
- Advising kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking techniques, hygiene and food safety.
- Discussing issues and concerns related to food preparation with the Manager/Owner.
- Setting up deliveries for routine customers.
- Maintaining kitchen health and safety compliance and keeping work areas clean and tidy.
- Instructing staff according to specific customer orders and dietary requirements.
- Keeping all kitchen utensils, tools and equipment clean and well-maintained.
- Determining customer requirements and dietary needs when preparing dishes.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience for the role of Cook, or the qualification of NZQA Level 2 can substitute for the requirement of work experience.
- The selected candidate will receive detailed training.
- Basic communication skills and basic knowledge of technology to operate the equipment.
- Able to work independently and make decisions in the kitchen for the betterment of the business.
- Pass random drug and alcohol tests (when required).
- No serious criminal conviction.
- Have an excellent manner with people, especially team members.
