Food & Beverage Manager – Full Time

Location: Oamaru, Otago, New Zealand
Salary: $68,000–$75,000 per annum
Hours: Minimum 35 hours per week

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Food & Beverage Manager to lead our restaurant, bar, and events operations at Brydone Hotel.

This is a hands-on leadership role, reporting to the Hotel Manager, and is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a team and delivering excellent guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily food and beverage operations to ensure smooth service
  • Lead, train, and motivate front-of-house team members
  • Manage rosters, staffing levels, and labour costs
  • Maintain high standards of service, presentation, and cleanliness
  • Work with the Head Chef on menus and seasonal offerings
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance with NZ health & safety, food safety, and licensing requirements
  • Drive revenue through promotions, events, and guest engagement
  • Prepare operational and financial reports
  • Handle guest feedback professionally and proactively

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant Food & Beverage management experience; hotel experience preferred
  • Relevant hospitality qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Sound understanding of hospitality financials, including GP, cost control, and budgeting
  • Current LCQ and Manager’s Certificate
  • Strong working knowledge of SwiftPOS or similar POS systems
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service
