Administrator - Intellectual Disability Service

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable Administrator to join our supportive administrative team. In this varied and rewarding role, you will deliver essential day-to-day administrative support across our Intellectual Disability Inpatient Service combining core administrative skills with specialised tasks that directly support our service delivery and care team.
This is a fixed-term opportunity through to August 2027 to provide maternity leave cover.
The salary range for this position is $74,476 - $81,164 (pro rata).
The National Intellectual Disability Service operates at the heart of a vital, interconnected framework supporting individuals with an intellectual disability across Aotearoa. Funded directly by Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People, our team delivers high-quality care, assessment, and rehabilitation across several specialised national and regional contracts. Supporting clients under the Intellectual Disability (Compulsory Care & Rehabilitation) Act 2003 (IDCC&R), our key services include:
- Regional Intellectual Disability Secure Service (RIDSS)
- National Youth Intellectual Disability Secure Service
- National Individualised Service Units
- Regional Intellectual Disability Consultation Assessment Service (RIDCAS)
You will be based in a dynamic environment, where your administrative expertise directly impacts the essential care and support delivered across these services.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Proven Administrative Expertise: Strong proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint), finance tasks (purchase orders/invoicing), diary management and minute taking.
- Exceptional Communication & Service: Outstanding interpersonal skills with a collegial, customer-focused approach and a proven ability to build positive working relationships.
- MDT & Operational Support: Proactive problem-solving skills with the foresight to anticipate and meet the administrative needs of a Multi-Disciplinary Team.
- Adaptability & Organisation: The ability to learn new systems quickly, manage shifting priorities under pressure, and deliver work with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Professional Integrity & Judgment: A self-motivated, flexible attitude grounded in strong judgment, continuous development, and a commitment to workplace equity.
- Compliance Requirements: Ability to successfully pass standard Police and Ministry of Justice (MOJ) background checks.
