HOLDER, MICHAEL & IRENE TAING are seeking an experienced Cafe Manager to support their café called ‘Fine Fettle Cafe’ based in Taupo.
Applicants must have at least 2 years of relevant experience in a cafe, a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, and demonstrate physical fitness and good character.
Flexibility is essential, as the industry operates 24/7 throughout the year, including weekends, public holidays, and school holidays, in line with business needs.

Responsible for the smooth, efficient, and profitable day-to-day operation of the café, while maintaining high standards of customer service, food quality, team performance, and compliance.

  • Oversee daily café operations, ensuring smooth service and consistent standards.
  • Lead, recruit, onboard, train, and support café staff.
  • Prepare staff rosters, manage labour requirements, and control wage costs.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
  • Manage ordering, stock levels, stocktakes, deliveries, and waste control.
  • Oversee cash handling, EFTPOS, banking, and daily financial reconciliations.
  • Monitor sales, costs, and operational performance to improve profitability.
  • Work with the kitchen team on menu development, pricing, quality, and cost control.
  • Coordinate promotions, events, and marketing initiatives to increase sales and customer loyalty.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate staff, payroll, supplier, stock, and compliance records.
  • Ensure the café is clean, well presented, safe, and ready for service.
  • Lead by example during busy periods and provide hands-on support to the team.
