Mental Health Nurse - Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Hospital

Permanent, Part Time, 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE)

About the Role

As a Mental Health Nurse, you will provide high quality, recovery focused care to tangata whaiora within the Community Mental Health and Addiction Service. You will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop and implement care plans, provide ongoing case management, and work closely with individuals and whānau to support positive mental health outcomes.

This is a varied and autonomous role where you will manage a caseload, participate in duty services, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated care. You will use evidence based practice and therapeutic approaches to support tangata whaiora on their recovery journey, while contributing to service development, quality improvement, and equitable health outcomes across the community.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our Community Mental Health and Addiction Service (South) provides specialist support to tangata whaiora and whānau across the Hastings area. You will join a dedicated and collaborative team of nurses, allied health professionals, and medical staff committed to delivering person centred, culturally responsive care that promotes recovery and wellbeing.

About You

As a Mental Health Nurse, you will bring:

• Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate
• Recent community mental health and addiction nursing experience
• A postgraduate qualification in Mental Health and Addictions
• Strong assessment, case management, and therapeutic communication skills
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving equitable health outcomes for Māori and all communities
• Excellent time management skills and a proactive, solution focused approach to care and service delivery
