CAFE WORKER (BUBBLE TEA)

Niko & Co Limited, trading as WuCha, is seeking a permanent full-time Cafe Worker for its Queenstown store.

Location: WuCha, Shop 15A, 19 Grant Road, Frankton, Queenstown
Employment: Permanent full-time
Pay: NZD $25.50 gross per hour
Hours: A minimum of 32 paid hours per week is guaranteed, excluding unpaid meal breaks. Additional hours may be offered up to a maximum of 40 paid hours per week.
Roster: Four or five rostered work periods on no more than five days between Monday and Sunday. Normal start and finish times will fall between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Main duties

  • Prepare bubble tea, milk tea, fruit tea, toppings and other menu products in accordance with WuCha recipes and procedures.
  • Take customer orders and provide friendly, professional and efficient service.
  • Serve beverages and other menu products for consumption on the premises or takeaway.
  • Operate the POS and self-service ordering system.
  • Handle cash, EFTPOS and other payments accurately.
  • Complete assigned opening and closing procedures.
  • Prepare ingredients and maintain appropriate storage, labelling and temperature controls.
  • Clean and sanitise beverage-making equipment, utensils, benches, floors, storage areas and customer areas.
  • Follow all food-safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
  • Receive deliveries, rotate stock and assist with stocktakes, wastage control and replenishment.
  • Deal professionally with customer feedback and refer issues to the Store Manager or Director.
  • Provide reasonable backup to other cafe employees when operationally required.

Minimum requirements

  • Able to provide friendly and effective customer service and communicate clearly with customers and team members.
  • Able to follow recipes, food-safety procedures and workplace instructions accurately.
  • Available for rostered work between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays when rostered.
  • Able to work at least 32 paid hours per week.
  • Able to travel reliably to and from the Frankton workplace for all rostered shifts.
  • Previous cafe, food-service or customer-service experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • No formal qualification is required. Necessary job training will be provided and paid.
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in bubble tea or relevant beverage/retail experience required.
