Permanent Part time: 0.5 FTE and 0.6 FTE
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Regional Cancer, Screening, Treatment and Support Service as a Medical Secretary.
We have two part-time positions available:
- 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week)
- 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week)
Both positions are worked Monday to Friday and provide essential Medical Secretary support across our Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Haematology services.
As a Medical Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting clinical teams by providing efficient, accurate, and timely transcription and administrative services. Your contribution will help the Cancer Screening, Treatment and Support Cluster meet service guidelines, performance targets, and patient care objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide accurate and timely transcription of medical records and correspondence.
- Deliver efficient administrative support to clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain patient records and documentation to a high standard.
- Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of all patient and service information.
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of oncology and haematology services.
- Adapt to changing priorities, procedures, and work environments while maintaining service excellence

Proven Medical Secretary/administrative experience, ideally in the health or social services sector
Ability to develop and work within defined administrative processes and systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
High level of computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office and patient management systems
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a busy and evolving environment
Flexibility and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
An understanding of—or interest in—cancer treatment services is desirable
