We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Medical Administrator for a short-term assignment with an immediate start.

The successful candidate will provide efficient administrative support while helping to create a welcoming, respectful and positive experience for patients and whānau.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing patient appointments, bookings and enquiries
- Answering telephone calls and responding to emails
- Registering patients and maintaining accurate and confidential records
- Processing referrals, correspondence and general documentation
- Supporting clinicians and other healthcare staff with administrative tasks
- Providing a welcoming and respectful experience for patients and whānau
- Handling confidential patient information in accordance with relevant policies and procedures
- Processing payments, invoices and other administrative records as required
- Supporting the wider team to deliver services in a way that reflects the organisation’s kaupapa and values
About You
- Friendly, approachable, warm and patient-focused
- Highly organised, reliable and attentive to detail
- Confident communicating with patients, whānau, colleagues and healthcare professionals
- Comfortable working in a busy healthcare environment and able to prioritise competing tasks
- Professional and respectful, with a strong understanding of confidentiality
- Comfortable using computers and standard office systems
- Culturally aware and committed to working in a kaupapa Māori environment
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of Māori health perspectives and whānau-centred approaches
- Familiar with tikanga Māori and te ao Māori, or genuinely willing to learn and work in accordance with these principles
- Te reo Māori language skills would be an advantage
- Previous medical or healthcare administration experience is desirable but not essential
